Menswear FLLC New Release

So I'm so glad many of you have followed me to typepad:) Thank You!

I made this card with the new Flourishes set Menswear. I didn't have a clear idea for this set so I looked at the sketch challenges on SCS as a jump off point. I used SC128 it was perfect! I stamped the image with Stazon Timber Brown. Smeared SU! Caramel ink over the image. Using a blender pen I added SU!! Close to Cocoa ink in spots. I cut the shirt out. Using foam tape I layered it. The tie was stamped in Timber Brown on Chocolate Chip paper and cut out. I stamped the sentiment and used my SU! oval punches with a brad. Fllc_menswear Have a great evening! Dee

Flourishes #1 Dad & Sharon's Paper Piecing Challenge

When I saw this set my first thought was...Ice cold beer. The "Happy Father's Day" stamp took me to another place. Yummy chocolate root beer floats! As a child and a adult root beer floats are a family favorite! I decided to do  Sharon's challenge for the mug, instead of beer I made a chocolate root beer float ( Father ). This isn't as yummy as the real thing but it sure brings back fond memories! If you look closely you will see this card is not perfect. Each detail is a bit off...according to the stamping standards:) But my how I remember making things for mom and dad at school!!! I poured my heart and soul into those things and they loved them uneven, not attached, written crooked, it was all about the love!!

Fllc_father

I collect elephants and my youngest daughter during art class in Jr. High made me several elephants with clay. She is 23 now and is totally annoyed those elephants are displayed proudly with all the others in the curio cabinet and entertainment center.

I stamped the mug on dp and cut it out. I stamped my #1 dad stamp on the cut out mug. The foam was stamped on close to cocoa paper and cut out. All stamps are Flourishes LLC. I used All in a row stamp set SU! for the piercing and a matpack.

This card is truly made from the heart! TFL:)

SSNOTIME28 Paper Piecing

Hi there! I made this card for Sharon's Stamp Simply challenge. You can read all about it here. I've done very little paper piecing, so this was fun trying something different. I think one of the reasons I haven't used this technique in the past maybe because I don't have many stamps that lend themselve to paper piecing.
Ssnotime28_welcome_baby_2 Lucky for me I have this adorable Baby Elephant stamp it's made by Peachy Keen Stamps. I used Basic Grey Two Scoops dp for the paper piecing. I got mine from Flourishes LLC. The welcome sentiment is from Kitchen Sink Stamps Never A Loss 4 Words set.
Flourishes has a new release today and Sharon's Card shows it off wonderfully. Make sure to check the other girls samples for ssnotime28. I'm sure you will find inspiration!
Sharon's: Sharon made a wonderful card for dad!!
Julie's   : Julie did a amazing job cutting and piecing WOW!!
Tammy's : Tammy even dressed the dog!!
I'll be later with another up load as well as candy info. Until then enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by:)

WT159 Spray It!

This was the easiest challenge ever! For the WT159 you have to spray your card. I used a spray bottle with water. The ink I used was Ranger Distress Ink Walnut Stain. I stamped the Lace Flower made by Penny Black with the ink on watercolor paper. I sprayed it with water and let it dry completely. I stamped the sentiment from PTI using the same ink. I did a little sponging around the edges. I used my matpack to pierce around the dp.

Thanks so much for stopping by ! Today is my 1 year blog anniversary!!!! How cool is that? Thank you all so much for visiting my blog:) I love having the traffic feed so I can see where some of you live. I have several giveaways coming up during the next week so check back tomorrow to see what's up for grabs!Wt159_dreams

Enjoy the day!

SC169 Stipple Rose

Good Morning! When I saw today's Sc169 I knew I wanted to use Stipple Rose. I stamped the Roses twice and colored them. Cut and mat one Rose on chocolate chip paper The second I cut out only the rose and rosebud using pop dots I adhered it on top of the first. I colored this using ink and a blender pen. The main panel (rust) is 1.5 inches wide. It's hard to see on the photo on SCS but I used the Damask background stamp from Flourishes with Caramel ink on the saffron pieces.
